In March 2020, as the UK went into lockdown, I found myself confined within four walls, able to take only short walks. After years of working six days a week, everything suddenly stopped. During this time, I purchased my first DSLR camera—a second-hand Canon EOS 400D—sparking an unexpected interest in photography at the age of 48.
My journey began with my first photo in the Peak District. Through YouTube tutorials, I gradually learned more about photography and my camera's capabilities. Experimenting with different lenses, I eventually upgraded to a Canon 80D. Weekends became opportunities for exploration and photography, particularly in the Peak District, which was just 1.5 hours away.
As lockdown restrictions eased, I embarked on hikes and adventures closer to home. I've been fortunate to capture some of the most scenic parts of the British Isles, including North Wales, the Peak District, the Lake District, and Scotland. My passion for photography grew as I learned to edit my images using Lightroom and Photoshop, culminating in the photos displayed on this website.
in 2024 I started to explore the streets and look at forms of street photography
